Post Decree

Sometimes after a divorce is finalized, litigation becomes necessary if one side or the other wants to change the arrangements ordered in the final Judgment.

This is called “post-decree” litigation.  We can help navigate this area as well.

Post-Decree litigation can modify legal custody, residential custody and parenting time.  Different burdens of proof apply depending on when a modification is requested.

As in the case of an initial divorce, if the parents are fighting over custody or parenting time issues, the judge will often bring in other paid professionals to help the judge make his or her ultimate decision.
